The identity design of the world's swimming festival "THE 18TH FINA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS GWANGJU 2019" embodies the message of life and peace toward the future of the global village.
The theme of the contest, "Dive into Peace", means to raise the value of human peace and fulfill the dream of the world becoming one through the contest held in Gwangju, which has preserved the democracy and human rights of the Republic of Korea.
The symbol of the contest shows a dynamic figure of a swimmer who vigorously challenges the dream of the future in the wave of peace that symbolizes Mt. Mudeung (pure dignity) and the Yeongsan River (the breath of life).
The official mascots of the contest, 'Suri' and 'Dari' named after 'SUDAl' which is korean of 'otter' express the otters returning to the Yeongsan River and the flagship species of Mt. Mudeung in Gwangju. And they are also delivering the message of peace and harmony that the contest seeks. |
