The product name, NOVA, means a "new star" in Italian which was originally invisible in dark but suddenly becomes a extremely bright light. The design motif of NOVA is a "new star" and the concept modelling was made by folding it three times with a paper band, borrowing one of the shapes of star. This was implemented in three dimensions in bench design. The shape of a star, consisting of an atypical polygon face that looks like a jewel cut, is recognized three-dimensional by reflecting light. Each side receiving light is facing different places, so the particles are more voluminous, and the faces of the diagonal react to the light sources around the installation site and have the main features that can be perceived as varying shapes over time, even from the same direction. |
